Yes -the fires all started in the clothes dryers of three homes in our area. Two families are homeless, the third faces a real messy cleanup.
All because of fires which started in their clothes dryers. Perhaps from a buildup of lint in the machine, or in the vent pipe/tube, or both.
FIRE needs three things: fuel, heat, & air. That lint will burn -it is a FUEL. The dryer, to do it's job, has to run HOT. And, it has to move a lot of AIR.
When did you last clean and vacumn YOUR dryer & it's vent pipe/tube? Yes, it may be a cumbersome and awkward job in order to get to the backside and underneath of the dryer (but sure to UNPLUG it first!!), but compare it to the messy cleanup after a fire (or worse, a fire that breaks out after your family has gone to bed?!). There's no contest which is the best option. No matter how good your insurance policy is, a fire is NOT pleasant.
